Although perhaps better known for our veg, Riverford has its own butchery, and delivers organic meat to homes across the country. Riverford meat is organic, British, meticulously sourced, properly hung and carefully butchered for the very best quality and flavour.
At our butchery we produce over 18,000 packs of meat a week. As a Butchery Team Member in the poultry department, you will cut and pack chicken, duck and turkeys to produce our meat packs and stock. This will involve packing the retail packs into vacuum packs for the dispatch team. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate that they have the right work ethic, and the aptitude and enthusiasm to learn and progress;
if you have that and are willing to work hard, we can offer you the chance to learn more about meat production.
Salary: £14.36 per hour
Location - The Butchery, Dean Court, Lower Dean, Buckfastleigh, TQ11 0LT
.
Hours - 39 hours a week Sunday to Thursday from 6am until 15:00. This is a fixed term contract up until Feb 2027
What You'll Bring…- Ideally you will have previous experience of working in a production or warehousing environment
- Must be comfortable working in a cold environment
- You must be able to lift and manoeuvre crates of produce.
- You should have good communication skills and be able to speak and write English to a level that enables you to comprehend instructions and daily requirements of the role
