Salary: £15.00-£16.00 per hour

Due to continued growth at one of our clients based in Swindon, Gap Personnel are looking for a Woodworking Fabricator to join their skilled production team.

The Role

As a Woodworking fabricator, you will manufacture bespoke timber packaging products to precise customer specifications. Working from technical drawings, you will cut, assemble, and finish a variety of wooden packaging solutions while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities Manufacturing & Assembly
  • Manufacture bespoke wooden crates, boxes, pallets, and packaging products.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
  • Cut, shape, assemble, and fit timber components to specification.
  • Use woodworking machinery, power tools, and hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Install protective packaging materials where required.
Quality & Production
  • Ensure products meet customer specifications and company quality standards.
  • Carry out quality checks throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Identify and rectify any defects before products are dispatched.
  • Work efficiently to meet production schedules and delivery deadlines.
  • Assist with packing and preparing completed products for shipment.
Health & Safety
  • Follow all company health and safety procedures.
  • Wear and maintain appropriate PPE.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.
  • Handle materials and equipment safely and responsibly.
Teamwork
  • Work closely with colleagues across the production team.
  • Support a positive and professional working environment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process efficiency.
Skills & Experience Required Essential
  • Previous experience in woodworking, manufacturing, joinery, carpentry, or a similar production environment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Experience using woodworking machinery, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Reliable, motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks.
Desirable
  • Experience manufacturing timber packaging, crates, or pallets.
  • Forklift licence or previous forklift experience.
