Sewing Machinist

Location – Southend-on-Sea

Salary – up to £31,000 depending on level of experience

A world leader in aerospace component manufacturing are currently searching for sewing machinists to work within the machine shop over locking and sewing cut parts into finished covers.  Candidates should have previous experience of industrial sewing.

Duties:

Using drawings, templates, work instructions and/or samples to sew precut parts

Carry out any reworks required

Overlock cut parts as per instructions/training.

Keep the sewing machine/over locker in a clean and regularly oiled condition and report any faults to the Team Leader

Work within guidelines/instructions to ensure traceability is maintained

Carry out any other tasks where reasonable and relevant, when required.

Experience:

Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent)

Must have experience of using an industrial sewing machine

Over locking experience is desirable

Must have a good understanding of how products go togethers

Must have basic English communication skills
