General Operatives & Skilled Machine Operators – Agricultural Business

Pay Rate: £12.71–£13.71 per hour
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off

Working Hours:

7:00am – 5:00pm

About the Role

We are currently recruiting reliable and hardworking individuals to join our team at an established agricultural business. We have opportunities available for both General Operatives and Skilled Machine Operators to support our day-to-day farming and agricultural production activities.

Whether you have previous agricultural experience or are looking to develop your skills, we welcome applications from motivated individuals who are committed to working safely and effectively as part of a team.

1. General Operatives

Key Responsibilities:

* Carry out general farming and agricultural duties.

* Handle, move and sort agricultural materials.

* Assist with sheet clamping and covering materials during seasonal periods.

* Maintain clean and tidy work areas, sheds and surrounding areas.

* Follow all site rules and health and safety procedures.

Requirements:

* Reliable, punctual and hardworking attitude.

* Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team.

* Basic English language skills sufficient to understand instructions and safety requirements.

* Willingness to work both outdoors and inside agricultural sheds.

* Comfortable working in an environment where agricultural smells may be present.

* Previous agricultural experience is advantageous but not essential.

2. Skilled Machine Operators

Key Responsibilities:

* Operate and monitor agricultural processing machinery, including the straw plant.

* Ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently.

* Identify, report and assist with resolving machine faults where appropriate.

* Keep machinery and working areas clean and organised.

* Follow operating procedures and health and safety requirements.

* Support general agricultural duties during busy seasonal periods.

Requirements:

* Good understanding of machinery safety and operating procedures.

* Ability to identify operational issues and report faults promptly.

* Sufficient English language skills to understand instructions and communicate safety-related information.

* Willingness to work outdoors and inside agricultural sheds.

* Comfortable working in an environment where agricultural smells may be present.

* Relevant machinery training or certifications may be required depending on the equipment used.

Working Environment

* Work will take place outdoors and inside agricultural sheds.

* Seasonal duties may include sheet clamping and covering materials.

* Agricultural smells may be noticeable in certain working areas.

* All employees must comply with site rules and safe working practices.
