Position: Heritage Manager, Tomb of the Eagles
Location: Saint Margaret's Hope

Heritage Manager

South Ronaldsay and Burray Development Trust is looking to hire a Heritage Manager. An exciting opportunity in the new position of Heritage Manager at the Tomb of the Eagles is now open for applications. This post is the senior on‑site operational lead who is responsible for the day‑to‑day running of the site, delivery of an outstanding visitor experience, and effective management of staff and volunteers.

Work location:

Based at the Tomb of the Eagles, Liddel, South Ronaldsay
Salary: £35,000 per annum (pro rata)

Hours:

TBC - Flexible, based on annualised hours. Hours will be higher during the main visitor season (approximately March to October) and reduced during the winter period

The postholder will play a key role in balancing heritage protection, volunteer involvement, public access, and commercial sustainability, ensuring that the Tomb of the Eagles remains welcoming, well‑managed, and true to its character.
