Our friendly team is looking for a Publicity Organiser to join us, so that we can teach more adults to read. We need someone who has Social Media skills, and great ideas for publicising our group. We need to advertise for 'Readers' (adults who want to learn to read), volunteers and donations.
What difference will you make?Having a dedicated publicity organiser will help existing members of the management team to focus on other roles and tasks, while still assisting in publicity - both online and offline. Publicity is key, as we need people to refer 'Readers' (adults who want to learn to read), we need volunteers - for the Management Team who run the group, and reading coaches.
And we need donations, to cover our running costs. With sufficient numbers of 'Readers' and volunteers, and enough funds, we'll be able to teach more adults to read. And, in future, expand the geographical area we can cover.
We are looking for someone who can spend a few hours each week as our Publicity Organiser - giving the group a presence in the local area - both online and offline. Our Publicity Organiser will have experience of social media marketing and communications/publicity/advertising in general. They will be working mainly independently, but alongside the Fundraiser and Volunteer Recruiter, and with the support of the whole team.
Hybrid
What will you be doing?Establishing and maintaining a strong social media presence for the group. Designing, printing and distributing publicity materials (with support from the team). Generating ideas for publicity and implementing them. Working with the Fundraiser and Volunteer Recruiter to publicise the group's needs for funding and volunteers.
Additional InformationThe Publicity Organiser will also be part of the 'Management Team' running our local group, and involved in decision-making. Must be prepared to work within the guidelines of Read Easy UK, with whom we are affiliated.
