We’re looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated Community & Youth Coordinator to help bring this vision to life.

This is a unique role combining community development, partnership working and youth work.

As Community Coordinator, you will lead the day-to-day operation of our Community Hub across multiple schools, creating warm, welcoming spaces where everyone feels they belong.

You’ll work closely with residents, families, schools, charities, local organisations and public services to build relationships, develop opportunities and respond to the strengths and aspirations of the local community.

Alongside this, you’ll deliver approximately six hours of youth work each week, working directly with young people in schools, community settings and neighbourhood spaces. You’ll create opportunities for young people to develop confidence, build positive relationships, influence decisions and play an active role in shaping their community.

No two days will be the same. One day you may be coordinating a community event, the next leading youth activities, meeting local organisations, supporting volunteers, promoting activities on social media or listening to residents about what matters most to them.

Working alongside the Community Development Senior Leader, you’ll help ensure our Community Hub becomes a vibrant and sustainable centre of community life.

• Coordinate the day-to-day operation of Community Hubs across multiple schools.
• Create welcoming, inclusive environments where everyone feels valued.
• Plan and deliver community activities, events and projects.
• Plan, lead and evaluate youth work sessions in schools, community venues and neighbourhood settings.
• Build strong relationships with children, young people, families, residents and partner organisations.
• Listen to communities through conversations and asset-based approaches to identify strengths, opportunities and emerging needs.
• Develop partnerships with charities, businesses, local authorities and community organisations.
• Manage bookings, communications, social media and promotional materials.
• Support funding applications and demonstrate the impact of the Community Hubs.
• Help schools strengthen their role as trusted anchors within their communities.

• Be passionate about improving outcomes for children, young people and families.
• Be an excellent communicator who enjoys bringing people together.
• Build trusting relationships with people from all backgrounds.
• Be organised, proactive and able to manage a varied workload.
• Be confident working independently while collaborating with a range of partners.
• Have experience in community development, youth work, education, family support, voluntary organisations or partnership working.
• Share our belief that communities already have strengths, talents and assets, and enjoy helping people build on them.
