Why we want you

Bring your enthusiasm and communication skills to help build the confidence and wellbeing of people affected by cancer, by supporting them to undertake walks in the local community. Together, we can be right there for people with cancer.

What you will be doing
  • Supporting and accompanying a person on a one-to-one basis to undertake a local ‘Health Walk’
  • Signposting people to other Health Walks or physical activities that take place in the Macmillan Horizon Centre or elsewhere
  • Keeping the attendance documents up-to-date
  • Participating in volunteer group meetings as required

  • Good communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand the needs and backgrounds of others
  • Ability to respond to the needs of the people supported in a flexible and open manner
  • Ability to operate as part of a team and refer complex issues to an appropriate member of staff when required
