Staff Nurse

Job Summary

We are looking for highly motivated qualified Staff Nurses to work within our 17‑bedded unit at Haltwhistle Hospital, caring for patients requiring rehabilitation from surgery, orthopaedic problems, palliative/terminal care.

• To assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care working as a member of the ward team under the direction of the Ward Manager.
• To be responsible for the organising and co‑ordination of nursing services in the ward/dept in the absence of senior staff on a regular basis.
• To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
• To be responsible for all nursing care standards and to maintain high clinical standards.
• To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership, engaging, enabling and empowering others, coaching, and facilitating team working across departmental boundaries.

• Providing care for patients on a 17‑bedded unit, working alongside other members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Acting as a mentor to junior staff and students.

• 1st Level live NMC registered Nurse.
• Evidence of qualification to undertake the supervision, teaching and assessing of students (essential requirement; completion expected within 18 months).

• Post Registration qualification in specialty.
• Diploma/degree in nursing.

Agenda for change;
Band 5; £31,049 to £37,796 a year pro rata per annum.

Contract:

Permanent (Full‑time, Part‑time, Flexible working).
