Job Overview

The post holder will combine excellent clinical practice with day‑to‑day shift coordination and undertake leadership and management responsibilities in support of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Sister / Charge Nurse to join Ward 11 in Withybush General Hospital. Ward 11 is an 18 bed Stroke and Rehabilitation Ward, with a 4 bed Acute Stroke Unit within it.

• Provide clinical practice and day‑to‑day shift coordination, supporting the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
• Deputise or take charge of the clinical area/team in the absence of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
• Provide supervisory management and leadership skills in a complex and pressurised clinical environment.
• Provide professional nursing leadership and guidance in line with NMC standards, offer clinical advice, and undertake management and monitoring activities to ensure effective delivery of high standards of nursing care.
• Work alongside nursing team members and the multi‑disciplinary team, supporting junior colleagues in the provision of direct care.
• Proactively contribute to implementing the NMC Standards for education, including student supervision and assessment.
• Provide leadership and role‑modeling in the development and mentorship of new and other staff.
• Demonstrate the Health Board's values and beliefs in everything you do within the work environment.
• Adopt a highly visible and accessible approach, leading by example and empowering the team to maintain patient safety, improve patient care and experience, and sustain high standards of nursing care.

• Ability to speak Welsh (desirable; English and Welsh speakers welcome).
