An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff nurse in the Uist and Barra Community Hospital on the Island of Benbecula. The hospital is situated in the Outer Hebrides on the North West coast of Scotland and serves the local community. It provides acute and long stay inpatient care for 16-20 patients along with a 24-hour A&E and outpatients service. The work can be unpredictable and varied offering continuous opportunities to develop practice on an island offering an exceptional work/life balance.
Responsibilities- Provide acute and long stay inpatient care for 16-20 patients.
- Support 24‑hour A&E and outpatients services.
- Collaborate with a flexible team to deliver high quality patient care.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Post registration experience in medical and acute care desirable.
- Newly qualified nurses/about to qualify encouraged to apply.
- Evidence of professional development essential.
- Eligibility to register with the Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme).
Band 5 salary range of £34,544 - £43,039 per annum with an additional £1,461 Distant Islands Allowance. 36 hours per week, permanent post.
