Staff Nurse

Administer IV medications in line with treatment protocols and develop skills to administer cytotoxic chemotherapy regimens and other specialist treatments. Work across both units providing blood and other infusions and supportive therapies while demonstrating flexibility to meet the demands of each unit.

• Administer IV medications and cytotoxic chemotherapy regimens in accordance with treatment protocols.
• Support private patients within The Meadows and work across both units for blood and other infusions.
• Ensure all staff adhere to the Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s local policies, protocols and procedures.
• Maintain compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, Manual Handling, Infection Control and Fire Safety measures.
• Manage patients in the outpatient setting and work towards obtaining competency in SACT delivery.
• Proficiently administer blood products in line with Trust guidelines and handle adverse reactions.

• Full current UK professional registration and experience working within a UK NHS Trust.
• Relevant competencies to manage patients in an outpatient setting, including desire to obtain competency in SACT delivery.
• Knowledge of Trust guidelines for blood transfusion and adverse reaction management.
• Strong communication skills, quick learner, positive attitude toward patient care.
• Commitment to compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, manual handling, infection control and fire safety protocols.
