Are you a chemotherapy trained nurse or are you interested in a career in cancer nursing? We have newly established band 6 nursing posts in preparation for our move to a brand new chemotherapy unit.

We are a team of nurses providing Systemic Anti‑Cancer Therapies (SACT) and supportive therapies for patients at all stages of their cancer journey in day unit settings to both Oncology and Haematology Patients. This post is based at our West Middlesex site. As part of the Trust’s ongoing development a newly built Chemotherapy unit is fully constructed and is due to open in late 2026.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated nurses with an interest in Oncology/Haematology nursing. You will need to be experienced, reliable and have a flexible approach with a dynamic proactive leadership style. You will need sound up to date clinical skills.

The successful candidates must possess excellent communication skills, a high sense of professionalism and a strong belief in the value of teamwork.

Nurses within the Trust are expected to ensure that an individual programme of care is planned, implemented and evaluated for each patient within their own sphere of responsibility. They should work as part of the multidisciplinary team ensuring the delivery of a high standard of care to the patients.

Main duties of the job
  • To be a member of the Haematology/oncology day unit Team at West Middlesex Hospital
  • To ensure safe, effective delivery of chemotherapy and co‑medications, and appropriate follow‑up / monitoring for patients receiving chemotherapy according to recognised local and national chemotherapy and Joint Management Guidelines.
  • Provide a range of supportive treatments in a day care unit, to patients with malignant and non‑malignant haematological diseases.
  • To support the Chemotherapy Nursing team with delivery of the educational programme for chemotherapy nurses and non‑oncology specialist staff involved in the care of patients receiving chemotherapy.
  • To support the Operational Manager in the day‑to‑day management of the service and overall development of the nurse‑led chemotherapy clinic service.
