Community Staff Nurse

Job Overview

Dorset Health Care is seeking a Community Staff Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team in the Blandford area. The position is full‑time and is a 12‑month secondment.

Shift patterns are flexible with preference for hours between 08:00 and 20:00, including attractive weekend enhanced pay.

Applications from candidates who require Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are ineligible. This is a fixed‑term role; those with current NHS service must obtain permission to be released on secondment before applying.

• Provide person‑centred care, maintaining safety, privacy, dignity and embodying Trust values.
• Assess patient care needs and develop programmes of care as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Manage acute and chronic nursing needs and develop strong therapeutic relationships with patients.
• Identify care needs, monitor patients’ conditions, record observations, and help develop wellbeing care plans.
• Support people to maintain independence, help avoid unnecessary hospital admission, and deliver exceptional end‑of‑life care including symptom management.

• Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check; the Trust will cover the cost.
• Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service may present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
