We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Drake Hall, a women's closed prison located near Eccleshall in Staffordshire with around 340 female inmates.
About the RoleThis role enables you to deliver high-quality care in a secure environment, working within a multi‑disciplinary team to prevent hospital admissions and improve patient outcomes.
Hours- Monday – Friday: 7:15 am – 5:15 pm
- Weekends: 7:30 am – 5:30 pm
- Every other weekend
- 4‑week rolling rota
This is a full‑time position with an annual salary ranging from £34,428 to £41,659, depending on experience.

Legal right to work in the UK is required. Due to the nature of the role, all offers are subject to additional vetting and security checks.
What You’ll Be Doing- Work within a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver a nurse‑led service and prevent hospital admissions
- Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and conduct reception screening
- Deliver nurse‑led clinics to your patient group with support from the multi‑disciplinary team
- Provide evidence‑based care, listening to and acting on patient feedback to personalise care
- Deliver non‑judgemental care that makes a real difference
- Forge strong links with partners and stakeholders to inspire excellence
- Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence‑based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding shared learning
- Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care and build strong multi‑disciplinary teams

Qualifications Required- Registered nurse – Adult, NMC
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- Understanding of the complexities of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working
- Non‑judgemental and compassionate approach
- Excellent communication skills
Although not essential, experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment is highly regarded.
