Mental Health Nurse, Pediatric Nurse
Every moment counts. Every memory matters. Come and join our Nursing team as a Nurse and provide exceptional care and support to children with life limiting and life‑threatening conditions.
As part of the Nursing Team, working in line with Julias House policies and procedures, provide family‑centred respite care both in the Hospice and Community for children who have life limiting and life‑threatening conditions. When necessary, provide a flexible and responsive approach to support the requirements of end‑of‑life care. Role model Julias House Values and Behaviours at all times.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with children with complex needs. You will have the ability to work both in a team and independently and work using your own initiative as well as accessing and contributing to the skill base of the wider team. You will work with a team of Carers, Nurses, Team Nurses, Senior Team Nurses, and Lead Nurses in a supportive environment and, as a nurse, you will be responsible for the delivery of high‑quality clinical nursing care to meet the diverse individual needs of the children and young people.
You will have experience in clinical nursing assessment, planning and delivering care which will be evidence‑based in conjunction with Julias House policies and procedures to deliver safe care to children and young people with complex needs that will often change.

Qualifications & Experience- Experience of working with sick children and their families
- Safeguarding Awareness Level3
- Understanding of equal opportunities
- Experience of working with children who have life limiting/life‑threatening conditions
- Experience of working with children who have complex medical needs
- Experience of caring for and working alongside families in their own environment
- Registered Sick Children Nurse or Registered Nurse (Child Branch) Diploma or Degree
- Registered Learning Disability Nurse
- RGN or RN Adult
- Counselling training and/or care of the dying and bereaved course or experience
- ENB
998 or equivalent teaching and assessing course
Julias House supports more than 140 families across Dorset and Wiltshire, in the community, at our hospices and in our families’ own homes. You will be based at our Wiltshire Hospice and work across Wiltshire in the homes of the children we look after. Flexibility is required to cover days, evenings, weekends, school holidays and occasional overnights. There are no set hours for contracted staff;
our care is provided at the times requested by our families and is therefore variable. Rotas are prepared 6 weeks in advance. This role is a 35‑hour per week contract.
