Nurse Associate - Neonatal Unit

If the answer to the above questions is YES then the Neonatal Unit at the Great Western Hospital could be the place for you.

The Great Western Hospital are seeking a Nurse Associate to join the team on the Neonatal Unit.

Main duties of the job

As a band 4 Nurse Associate you will be working alongside an experienced team to provide care to a range of babies with a variety of conditions. Our Neonatal unit has 18 cots, which is comprised of 2 intensive cots, 4 high dependency cots and 12 special care cots.

We are a designated Local Neonatal Unit (Level
2) providing care for preterm babies from 27 weeks' gestation and for sick newborn babies. We also have a Transitional Care unit soon to have 8 beds.

To undertake the core competencies for a nurse associate, work within clearly defined accountability frameworks and boundaries of limitation to provide the best possible care in collaboration with colleagues, patients, their families and carers.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse Associate
  • Evidence of personal portfolio
  • Current NMC Registration
  • Level 3 safeguarding
Experience
  • Recent experience nursing children in an acute / community setting
  • Current knowledge of developments in healthcare
  • Able to demonstrate effective consolidation of nursing knowledge and practice after qualification
  • Level 3 safeguarding children
Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Salary: £28,392 to £31,157 a year, pro rate.
