An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dedicated Nurse Specialist team within the Dermatology out‑patient unit situated at Brighton General Hospital in Brighton. We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic experienced Dermatology Nurse with a proven track record of delivering and organising high‑quality patient care, working autonomously both surgically and medically with patients with complex inflammatory, malignant and non‑malignant skin disease.
Mainduties of the job
- To offer direct support to all dermatology patients and be a core member of the dermatology team
- Provide expert clinical knowledge to staff and patients
- To manage own nurse‑lead clinics
- Monitoring of drug safety, including interpreting test results and acting on findings to alter treatment as necessary
- Perform dermatological surgical procedures
- Setting and working with high standards while promoting dignity and human rights
Work as a member of the specialist nursing team providing high‑quality care to dermatology patients, ensuring timely and effective treatments. Be responsible for working autonomously, delivering high‑level specialised care, expert advice, support and education to other health professionals, patients and carers. Act as an expert practitioner demonstrating specialist knowledge, skills and expertise in the management of eczema, psoriasis, acne, hidradenitis suppurativa and other chronic skin conditions, paediatric systemic monitoring, skin cancer and non‑malignant skin cancer phototherapy and photo‑chemotherapy, minor surgery, photodynamic therapy, patch testing, leg ulcers and systemic drug monitoring.
Personspecification
- A broad range of clinical experience with specific experience within Dermatology
- Experience of working autonomously
- Evidence of having undertaken your own development to improve understanding of equalities issues
- Evidence of having championed diversity in previous roles (as appropriate to the role)
- Visa sponsorship:
This role is eligible for UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route. Sponsorship can only be provided if applicants meet UKVI requirements. - Graduate visa:
Applicants must have a minimum of 18 months remaining on their visa at the time of application. - DBS checks: A Disclosure and Barring Service check is required for all new employees in this role.
