Location: Hadley

A development opportunity has arisen for an Emergency Department nurse who isahighly motivated individual with a passion for Emergency Nursing and for supporting and developing nurses within the department. The post holder will be fully supported by the band 7 Clinical Practice Educator and ED Matrons all of whom are responsible for leading the ED nursing Teams across an integrated Children's Emergency Department and an Urgent Treatment Centre.

We also offer training and support for the successful candidate with options of attending personal development courses such as Masters Programmes and Teaching qualifications. We pride ourselves in providing education and training to all staff within the Emergency Department and run accredited Foundations of Emergency Care and Advanced Emergency Care courses for children and adults of which you will be heavily involved in the delivering and running of.,

The CPE's main nursing duties include but is not inclusive to:

  • Facilitating training days for the nursing team and student nurses.
  • Facilitating 3 month and 6 month probationary reviews.
  • Able to present and teach.
  • Competent IT skills.
  • Work alongside nursing staff and students to provide direct clinical based teaching.
  • Develop, implement and deliver competency-based clinical education.
  • Work with clinical teams to ensure Students are exposed to a wide range of learning opportunities.
  • Further develop own competence and ability to teach a wider range of skills as required in order to disseminate best practice.
  • Support staff with student interviews and assessments.
  • Organise student rota's and allocation of mentors.
  • Review and update clinical competencies in line with best practice.
  • Ensure mandatory training is up to date within the department.
  • Support new starters.

Self-rostering is available for you to allocate your own working days and we are always willing to consider flexible working in order to maintain a healthy work life balance. You will be expected to work occasional weekends and later finishes in order to provide 5 to 7 day support.

The post holder will be expected to work clinically as part of the role and therefore must have experience of working in and ED setting and an accredited Emergency Care Course. Please see person specification for further details of required experience and qualifications prior to applying
