An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Paediatric Senior Community Staff Nurse who has a special interest in children with neuro-respiratory conditions within our Community Paediatric Nursing department based at Crosshouse Hospital, Kilmarnock.

28.8 hours over 3 or 4 days

This post is offered on a permanent basis

A UK driving licence is essential for this role.

You will work within the children’s Community Nursing team which provides care for babies, children and young people throughout Ayrshire & Arran. You will be responsible for the care and support for children with neuro-respiratory and complex respiratory conditions as well as assisting our other community nursing services where required. The post holder will develop nurse led clinics with a focus on children with neuro-respiratory and complex respiratory conditions enhancing their care through targeted intervention.

You will deliver high-quality family centred care and provide support in a variety of settings including clinics in the acute hospital and child development centre, schools, early years facilities and family homes.

• First level children’s nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration.
• Significant relevant experience, demonstrating the appropriate competencies and skills for the role.
• Evidence of further education, for example, post-graduate certification/diploma/Continuous Professional Development in relevant area
• Effective listening and interpersonal skills.
• Time management skills/ability to prioritise workload.
• Leadership skills
• Excellent team working skills and the ability to work using own initiative.
• Evidence of effective problem solving skills.
• IT and database management skills.
• Independent Nurse Prescribing Qualification (Level 9 or Level 11) desired
