Registered Nursing Associate

Knowsley Treatment Rooms, part of Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, is recruiting a permanent Band 4 Nursing Associate. The post centres on assessing, planning and delivering clinical care alongside a multi-professional team and a Registered Nurse, as agreed with supervising clinicians. Candidates need prior experience in a treatment room or district nursing setting, and the role combines some autonomy with structured support, supervision and training.

NMC registration as a Nursing Associate is required.

• Assess, plan, organise and deliver clinical care in line with service and patient needs, as agreed with supervising clinicians
• Wound care
• Administering injections
• Performing Dopplers
• Applying compression bandages
• Ear irrigation
• Removal of sutures and clips

• Nursing Associate Foundation Degree from an approved programme

• NMC registration as a Nursing Associate
• Acting in line with the NMC Code and professional standards

• Experience in a treatment room setting or with a district nursing team
• Working effectively as a team member under appropriate supervision
• Working independently and using own initiative within a multi-disciplinary team
• Handling non-routine, unpredictable workload and individual patient contact
• Reflective practice and clinical supervision activities
• Insight into own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate

• Time management and ability to prioritise
• Intermediate IT skills
• Understanding of the Nursing Associate scope and evidence-based practice
• Communicating effectively with the public and health and care providers
• Knowing when to seek advice and refer to a registered care professional
• Promoting health and wellbeing (Making Every Contact Count)

• Evidence of continuous professional development

• Additional post-registration qualification relevant to field of practice
• Skills in audit and improvement methodology, or willingness to undertake
• Evidence of improving support and development of less experienced staff
• Evidence of recent work-based or self-directed learning
