Practice Nurse

A Practice Nurse post within the GP surgery team at Church Walk Surgery, a small village practice where staff work closely together. The nurse would carry out health checks, chronic disease management, immunisations, wound care, cervical screening and other clinical work alongside GPs and the wider team. The small team and community setting offer a personal approach to patient care. Applicants need an adult nursing registration with the NMC and training in immunisation, cervical screening and wound care.

• Carry out health checks
• Manage chronic diseases
• Give child and adult immunisations
• Provide wound care and dressings
• Carry out cervical screening
  
  Perform other clinical duties suited to experience and training
• Work closely with GPs and the wider practice team
• Develop own skills and contribute to improving patient care

• Immunisation and vaccination training
• Cervical screening qualification or training
• Wound care training or relevant experience

• Adult nurse registration with the NMC

• Excellent communication skills
• Reliable, approachable and organised
• Commitment to safe, effective and compassionate care

• Practice Nurse or General Practice Nursing qualification or relevant experience
• Training in chronic disease management
• Clinical skills courses such as wound care, diabetes, respiratory disease or hypertension management
