Registered Nurse

Spire Dunedin Hospital's Surgical Wards team is recruiting a permanent Registered Nurse. The post covers assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care for patients across a varied surgical caseload, working closely with consultants and multidisciplinary colleagues. It is a hands‑on clinical role on a part‑time basis of 22.5 hours a week on a rota that includes weekends. Current NMC registration and acute care experience are required, with surgical ward experience desirable but not essential.

• Assess patients' health and wellbeing across a complex, changing caseload
• Deliver individualised nursing care to each patient
• Support the planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care
• Communicate with patients, relatives and colleagues, including sensitive information
• Keep accurate clinical records and documentation
• Promote best practice in health, safety and clinical governance
• Contribute to service improvement and ward development
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive patient outcomes

• Current NMC registration

• Experience working in an acute healthcare setting
• Confidence managing a varied patient caseload

• Strong clinical knowledge
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Adaptable in a changing clinical environment

• Organised and reliable
• Able to work as part of a team and independently
• Positive, professional approach and commitment to outstanding patient care

• Surgical ward experience
• Interest in developing surgical nursing experience
