This role provides vital support to the Land Management team in delivering programmes that contribute to the sustainable management of Natural Resources Wales' land within the Brecon Beacons and Irfon area. The area includes significant forest holdings such as Irfon, Talybont Coed yr Rhaiadr and Mynydd Ddu, as well as the nationally important Nature Reserve estate across South Powys.
Working closely with the Senior Officer and Team Leader, the postholder will help organise and oversee the delivery of an agreed Land Management operations programme to a consistently high standard across the Welsh Government Woodland Estate and National Nature Reserves (NNRs) in Mid Wales.
The role will act as the first point of contact for neighbours and stakeholders, fostering positive relationships and working collaboratively to resolve issues. Responsibilities will include managing a range of operational activities such as public safety inspections, tree safety, fencing, and roadside flailing.
The position is based in Mid Wales and requires regular fieldwork across a variety of sites and locations, with a significant proportion of contracted hours spent out in the field. Therefore a full UK driving licence and the ability to drive is essential.
As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to either the Llandovery or Talybont on Usk office and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.
