Position: Project Lead – Integrated Natural Resource Scheme (INRS) Project Manager

About Us

Eryri National Park Authority protects the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of Eryri National Park.

Our Integrated Natural Resource Schemes aim to manage, enhance and protect our Designated Landscapes, as well as farming communities and the local economy.

The Role

As the Project Lead, you will lead the delivery of Y Goeden Iawn yn y Lle Iawn, seeking to improve woodland management across the National Park.

Specifically, you will engage with farmers, landowners and forest managers, identifying suitable applicants, provide advice on conservation activities and guidance for the application and delivery processes.

Managing contracts, expenditure, claims and progress reporting, you will oversee the day-to-day work of the INRS Tree and Woodland Officer. You will also ensure programme compliance and provide the required financial evidence and reports to Welsh Government and Rural Payments Wales.

Additionally, you will:

  • Work with Eryri specialists to develop effective projects
  • Act as a key liaison with Welsh Government and Rural Payments Wales
  • Signpost applicants to other suitable funding sources
  • Monitor the progress of funded projects
  • Support project evaluation and reporting
About You

To be considered as a Project Lead, you will need:

  • Welsh language skills
  • Experience working with farmers and land managers to achieve conservation objectives, including through agri-environment schemes
  • Practical conservation experience, including providing land management advice and carrying out habitat assessments
  • Excellent IT skills
  • A degree-level qualification in an environmental, ecology, agricultural or land management-related subject, a qualification in an agricultural or land-based discipline, or significant directly relevant experience
  • A full driving licence and the ability to travel

This role will involve working in remote areas and on rough terrain.
