Salary: £32,061 - £36,363 (pro rata)

Eryri National Park Authority protects the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of Eryri National Park.

Our Integrated Natural Resource Schemes aim to manage, enhance and protect our Designated Landscapes, as well as farming communities and the local economy.

The Role

As a Trees and Woodland Field Support Officer, you will help deliver woodland and conservation projects that enhance Eryri’s landscapes.

Working on the Y Goeden Iawn yn y Lle Iawn programme, you will identify and support farmers, landowners and forest managers to develop and deliver projects that improve woodland management, increase tree cover and strengthen habitat connectivity.

You will provide guidance throughout the application process, encourage collaborative applications and work closely with Eryri National Park specialists to develop effective conservation projects.

Additionally, you will:

  • Act as a key liaison between Eryri National Park, Welsh Government, Natural Resources Wales and Rural Payments Wales
  • Signpost applicants to other suitable funding opportunities
  • Collate supporting site evidence for Rural Payments Wales
  • Monitor the progress of funded projects and contribute to programme evaluation and reporting
About You
  • The ability to work through the medium of Welsh
  • Practical conservation experience
  • Experience working with farmers and land managers to achieve conservation objectives
  • Knowledge of the characteristic habitats and species of the Eryri National Park
  • Knowledge of a wide range of conservation management activities
  • Confidence in public speaking
  • A degree‑level qualification in an environment, ecology, agricultural or land management related subject, or a qualification in an agricultural or land‑based subject or equivalent experience
  • A full, valid driving licence

Please note, this role will involve working in remote areas and on rough terrain.
