Plas Pencelli is a successful local authority outdoor education centre set in large attractive grounds on the edge of the Brecon Beacons. This vibrant and well‑equipped centre offers high quality outdoor activity programmes for young people and adults. Programmes utilise a range of traditional off‑site outdoor activities at the best venues in South Wales.

As an Outdoor Education Instructor, you will be responsible for planning and delivering off‑site educational outdoor activities. You will be monitoring health and safety whilst supervising groups and activity assistants. Integral to the role will be facilitating group interaction and personal development by encouraging and supporting participants to help achieve their potential. You will also be helping maintain outdoor equipment.

As someone who believes in the value of outdoor learning, you will be a career professional with evidence of successful higher education within a complementary field and operate at a level equivalent to APIOL.

• Previously worked with young people as an outdoor instructor with two years’ experience working in an outdoor setting.
• Appropriately qualified and possess a minimum of two awards from RCI, HML, BC Paddlesport Instructor.

Or equivalent, with a commitment to achieve all four awards within a short time span. Higher qualifications will be an advantage.

• A current driving licence is essential. D1 entitlement is a significant advantage; otherwise a commitment is required to achieve this over a short period of time.
