HSSE Advisor

Location: Romford

Contract Type: Full-time, permanent

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

What You Will Do

The HSSE Advisor is responsible for promoting a positive safety culture, providing professional health and safety support to operational departments, investigating incidents, facilitating risk assessments and ensuring compliance with company standards and applicable legislation.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Lead investigations into first aid cases, near misses, unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
  • Support departments in the completion and review of risk assessments.
  • Lead Safety Representative meetings and maintain associated records.
  • Deliver training sessions including Permit to Work awareness, RPE awareness and other HSSE topics as required.
  • Support planning and coordination of emergency drills.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
  • Monitor completion of incident actions and verify effectiveness.
  • Escalate significant incidents and trends to the HSSE Lead.
About you

You will be a proactive and approachable HSSE professional who is confident supporting others, providing practical advice, and helping to maintain a safe, compliant and positive working environment.

Basic Skills And Qualifications
  • GCSE Maths and English at grades 4–9, or equivalent.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent Level 3 H&S qualification). Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good understanding of UK health and safety legislation including HASAWA, MHSWR, COSHH and RIDDOR awareness.
  • Knowledge of safe systems of work and permit-to-work principles.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering, logistics or similar environment.
