The Interim SHE Manager will lead health, safety, and environmental strategy at a major manufacturing site in Lound. This full-time, site-based contract runs for an initial three months, bridging a permanent appointment. The role requires visible leadership to drive safety culture in a high-risk environment. Key skills include operational SHE management within manufacturing, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance. The contract falls inside IR35, with a daily rate between £400 and £600, negotiable via umbrella.
This position demands immediate availability and a proactive, hands-on approach from an experienced professional ready to deliver tangible improvements from day one.

East Suffolk. - Site-based with some flexibility where appropriate.
- IR35:
Inside IR35. - Rate: £400-£500 per day (PAYE via Umbrella), negotiable depending on experience.
- Start:
Immediate.
Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will provide operational SHE leadership across a large manufacturing facility with an established safety culture and central SHE support. Rather than firefighting compliance issues, the focus is on continuing to develop behaviours, engagement and accountability across the site while supporting ongoing improvement projects. You will also mentor and coach an existing SHE Coordinator, helping to develop their leadership capability and influencing skills.
Key Responsibilities- Provide visible, hands-on SHE leadership across the site.
- Coach, mentor and develop the on-site SHE Coordinator.
- Support managers in embedding a proactive safety culture.
- Build strong relationships with both operational teams and senior stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across health, safety and environmental performance.
- Ensure compliance with UK legislation and company standards.
- Support ongoing projects relating to risk management, behavioural safety and operational improvements.
- Promote practical, proportionate health and safety solutions that support operational performance.
Large manufacturing facility with approximately 800+ employees. High-risk, fast-paced operational environment. Established safety systems with a mature compliance culture. Focus on evolving behavioural safety and increasing workforce ownership. Significant operational improvement and capital projects underway.
Candidate ProfileWe are looking for someone who is:

- Comfortable operating at both shop-floor and senior leadership level.

- An experienced coach who enjoys developing others.
- Confident influencing behavioural and cultural change.
Essential:
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) preferred.
- Candidates with a NEBOSH Certificate and significant relevant operational experience will also be considered.
- Strong experience within manufacturing or another high-risk operational environment.
- Experience leading SHE within a large single site or multi-site operation.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Desirable:
- Experience with environmental management.
- Knowledge of hazards such as DSEAR, ATEX, pressure systems, ammonia or similar high-risk processes.
- Experience working to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
