The RoleWe are seeking a proactive and experienced Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager to oversee and continuously improve our health, safety, and environmental management systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated HSE professional to work closely with site management and employees, ensuring legal compliance while promoting a positive safety culture throughout our feed manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and maintain the site's Health, Safety and Environmental management systems.
- Ensure compliance with UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver health and safety training and awareness programmes.
- Maintain accurate HSE records and statutory documentation.
- Support managers and supervisors with risk management and safe systems of work.
- Liaise with enforcement agencies, insurers and external auditors when required.
- Monitor environmental performance and waste management activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote a positive safety culture across the business.
- Prepare and present HSE performance reports to senior management.
- NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum qualification requirement).
- Previous experience in a Health & Safety or HSE role within manufacturing, production, agriculture, feed milling, food production, or a similar industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
- Experience conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
- Membership of IOSH (TechIOSH, Grad IOSH or higher). Desirable.
- Environmental experience.
- Experience with in feed manufacturing, food production, agriculture.
- Experience delivering safety training.
