We are seeking an experienced candidate to take ownership of our calibration and inspection operations.
What You’ll Do- Ensure Technical Excellence:
Maintain, calibrate, and validate test equipment while ensuring all work meets ISO 17020 and ISO 17025 standards. - Lead Accreditation & Audits:
Serve as the technical lead for UKAS and external audits, working closely with the Quality Manager. - Develop & Train:
Authorise signatory competence for staff, write and validate new calibration methods, and build operational calculation tools (Excel). - Drive Capability:
Identify gaps, build new internal testing capabilities, and deliver quarterly growth reports. - Maintain Quality & Safety:
Manage lab safety risk assessments, equipment traceability, non-conformance investigations, and environmental monitoring.
- Experience:
5+ years working within a recognised inspection or testing environment. - Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of ISO 17020 and ISO 9001 standards; UKAS laboratory management experience is a plus. - Qualifications:
Relevant technical qualification; IOSH Managing Safely and Laboratory Internal Auditor certifications preferred. - Practical
Skills:
Advanced Excel skills for building math/calculation models, PAT testing experience, and internal auditing skills. - Mindset:
Exceptional attention to detail, uncompromising integrity, and a continuous improvement mindset.
