Technical Assistant, Quality Assurance - QA​/QC

Location: Brome

Hales Group are working with their client to assist them in finding a Technical Assistant to join their team. Reporting to the Technical Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for making sure samples, traceability and compliance paperwork are updated on regular basis.
 
Salary | £30,000 Per Annum
Hours | Monday to Friday, preferably 08:00 start until 16:30 (flexibility can be discussed)
 
Main Duties
 
Prepare lab samples to be sent to external lab.
Ensure that product is safe for positive release for customer, sending certificates of analysis or conformance.
Report any out of spec micro results & work with the QA Manager to investigate.
To take the lead in traceability/mass balance.
Complete daily, weekly and monthly specified tasks on the work tracker.
Oversee the internal audit schedule, assign audits and conduct internal auditing.
Assist Technical Compliance Manager to ensure the quality manual is maintained.
Work closely with customers and respond to customer requests.
Assist the Specifications Technologist with completing and issuing specs to customers.
Review & sign off production paperwork as correctly completed, file and archive (as and when required).
Update and maintain the supplier approval document.
Work with the technical team, QA team & factory teams to improve right first times.
Develop strong technical partnerships with key customers and suppliers.
To assist the technical & quality teams, as required.
Assist the Technical Compliance Manager in any other duties, as instructed.
Be a key member of the team during audits and customer visits.

Skills and Attributes
 
Trained in Level 2 Food Safety
Trained in Level 2 Health and Safety
Trained in basic principle of HACCP
Trained in internal auditing
Trained in basic principles of environmental and sustainability
Good standard of literacy and numeracy
Good organisational skills, ability to plan and prioritise different tasks
Strong relationship building skills, ability to work in a team
