R&D & Sensory Technologist

Are you an experienced Food Technologist or R&D Technologist looking for a role where you can take real ownership of product development projects?

We're working with an established food manufacturing business looking to add an R&D & Sensory Technologist to its development team.

This is a varied, hands-on position combining product development, formulation, technical projects and sensory, with the opportunity to work on projects from initial concept right through to launch.

The Role

You'll be involved in:

  • Managing product development projects from concept through to launch
  • Developing and improving products and ingredient solutions
  • Working with a range of raw materials and functional ingredients
  • Planning and carrying out product trials
  • Conducting analytical and product testing
  • Supporting and developing sensory evaluation activities
  • Analysing results and communicating findings to the wider business
  • Working closely with technical, commercial and purchasing teams
  • Maintaining accurate development and project documentation
  • Supporting customer-led development projects and presentations
  • Managing multiple projects and priorities

What We're Looking For

Ideally, you'll have:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Food Science, Food Technology or a related subject
  • Experience with in R&D, NPD or food product development
  • A good understanding of food ingredients and formulation
  • Knowledge or experience of sensory analysis
  • Experience supporting or managing development projects
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive approach with the confidence to take ownership of your work

Experience with in an ingredients or food manufacturing environment would be particularly beneficial, although we're open to candidates from a broader food development background.

This could suit someone currently working as an R&D Technologist, NPD Technologist, Development Technologist, Food Technologist, Product Development Technologist or Sensory Technologist.
