Overview
The National Trust is renowned for its food and hospitality. We run 185 cafes, tea-rooms and restaurants all over England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and we would love you to join us as a Food and Beverage Team Member. In this role, you’d be making a real difference to the work of the National Trust, as well as helping to give people a memorable day out.

Responsibilities- Front of house duties, welcoming and looking after customers in the café to ensure an enjoyable visit.
- Provide outstanding service with a friendly, can-do attitude and contribute to a lively, fast-paced team environment.
- Understand customer needs, offer recommendations and maintain high standards of food and drink preparation and presentation.
- Keep displays and signs accurate and appealing; assist the kitchen team with food preparation when required.
- Complete induction, training in allergens and food safety, and participate in mentoring and development opportunities.
As a Team Member, your main focus will be front of house, dealing directly with people. You’ll welcome and look after everyone who comes to the café. You’ll need a positive attitude, teamwork, and adaptability to thrive in a busy environment.
Shifts may vary between 9am and 5:30pm, including lunch cover shifts, depending on operational requirements. Your role includes weekdays, weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require evening or split shifts. You’ll support the kitchen team with food preparation at times.
Requirements & qualificationsNo experience is required, but we’d love to hear from you if you’re:

- a people person who cares about giving great service
- enthusiastic and willing to learn
- Contract type: zero-hour contract; we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week. We aim to provide a consistent work pattern, but schedules may change based on business needs. We’ll try to give as much notice as possible. The role includes weekdays, weekends and Bank Holidays and does not require evening or split shifts.

The café is open every day, Monday to Sunday, year-round; shifts may vary and typically run between 9am and 5:30pm. - Salary: £12.75 per hour (effective from 1 April)
