The Role
This is a new position which will be key to a successful launch for this exciting new business venture. The Business Owners have identified a key role which is pivotal to growing this business. Before Scoffers has even opened, interest and excitement is building in the local area, so this will be a busy restaurant and take away!
The successful candidate will report directly to the Business Owners and will be a part of the Management Team.
Key Responsibilities- Day to day running of the restaurant & take away
- Managing & motivating the team of staff (permanent and seasonal staff)
- Managing staff rotas
- Managing standards of customer service, cleanliness, health & safety, hygiene, atmosphere & ambience
- Managing stock levels and ordering schedules
- Managing cash and EPOS payments
- Monitoring general business performance
This role is an opportunity for the successful candidate to establish new processes to ensure a successful outcome for the above responsibilities. Ensuring at all times that the staff and customers are at the heart of every decision.
The typical hours will be 9am – 5pm over 5 days/week. Weekend work is required and seasonal hours may vary. The Business Owners will be flexible where possible for the most appropriate candidate.
Salary is dependant on level of experience and will offer an attractive rate of pay and conditions.
A driving licence is essential.
The PersonExperience of leading a team of staff, or establishing or working in a fast paced hospitality environment is essential. The ideal candidate will be customer focussed. Experience in handling staff personnel matters, and customer satisfaction is highly desirable and will be supported by the Business Owners. The role is multi faceted requiring someone who can comfortably multi-task and prioritise. You will be trustworthy and approachable, equally happy to work alongside the team as well as lead the team and the Business Owners will offer the support necessary to ensure a successful outcome.
You will be a team player, working flexibly to demonstrate pride in food and customer service. As this is a new role in a new business, the successful candidate will need to be adaptable and confident in altering direction based on customer, staff and Business Owner feedback as required. The Business Owners are looking for an excellent ambassador for their business.
Business
Scoffers Fish & Chip Restaurant & Take Away will be launching very soon, and is located in the beautiful village of Colvend. The business will prepare fresh fish and chips to eat in the restaurant or to take away. Drinks and ice creams are also available. There are also plans to expand the range of meals and to offer additional services to customers in the local area, once the core business is established.
This role will have an opportunity to help guide those new offerings and design future changes.
The Ark, Kippford is one of 3 local businesses managed by the Business Owners family. The Ark, Kippford is the most established, having operated for over 2 years. Caddie’s Cove at Colvend Golf Club is the 2nd and latest business to open, and the restaurant is performing well for golfers, the general public as well as larger scale events. The next business which will launch soon is Scoffers Fish & Chip restaurant and take away family are focussed on developing each of these local businesses to their full potential, and this is why this new role is required.
