. We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. As a Customer Service Assistant, you will be working in a fast paced retail environment where no day is the same.

You will play an important role in the day-to-day operations of our store activities by providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments and helping maintain the store’s appearance. The customer is at the heart of everything we do, so you will be constantly looking for ways to improve service through on-the-job coaching and feedback. With your guidance, the store will remain a safe place to work and shop.

• Know customers well and serve them with passion and pride, providing great natural service.
• Encourage customers to give feedback on their shopping by completing the “have your say” survey.
• Work across all store areas including online, tills, replenishment, vending and stock routines to meet customer needs.
• Apply training to ensure all work is performed safely.
• Participate in seasonal, community and charity events to create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Understand store performance and the role you play to help deliver profit.
• Live the company values, make everyone feel welcome, and follow policies.
• Clock in and out at the start and end of shifts to ensure accurate payment for hours worked.
• Follow security procedures and wear safety equipment where available to keep yourself, colleagues and customers safe.
• Follow the Think 25 policy when serving age-restricted products.
• Respond quickly to assistance calls or interventions on self-service checkouts and explain actions to customers.
• Keep work areas clean, tidy and organized, with aisles clear of congestion.
• May be responsible for running the shift in the absence of the Shift Leader and Store Manager at certain times.
• Follow all training to keep yourself, others and the store safe and legal.

Note: If the store has a Post Office Local, duties may include day-to-day Post Office operations, which require a Post Office Financial and criminal conviction background check. If these checks fail, the job offer may be withdrawn.
