Job Description

Dispensing Optician – responsible for delivering high‑quality customer care, expert advice, and clinical support in a Boots Opticians store while ensuring compliance with GOC regulations.

• Provide clinical support in-store for regulated dispensing.
• Inspire and guide the Optical team to deliver the best possible service.
• Listen to customers’ needs and offer appropriate expertise and advice.
• Help customers select the correct eyewear, ensuring the best product for their needs.
• Support efficient day‑to‑day operations and maintain legal trade compliance.
• Provide expert knowledge for patients with specialist requirements.

• Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).
• Passion for learning and development; complete all CPD training required by GOC.
• Willingness to embrace new technologies (desired).

Reporting to the Store Manager, this role is full‑time and operates Monday to Saturday from 09:00 to 17:30 at the Dumfries store.
