Customer Delivery Driver, Supermarket Assistant

About the Role

This is a very important front‑line role. You represent Waitrose & Partners to every customer you meet, and their impression of the store is your responsibility.

You will act as the friendly face of our business – the helpful driver who delivers the unique blend of Waitrose quality and outstanding service right to our customers’ doors. When you’re not out on the road, you’ll be at the store assisting with duties such as stock control, cashiering and lifting heavy products.

Key responsibilities include:

• Represent the company and deliver outstanding customer service.
• Operate chilled vehicles safely and according to licence conditions.
• Assist with in‑store duties: stock control, cashiering, lifting and handling heavy merchandise.
• Adhere to health & safety standards and work safely in a fast‑paced environment.

• Full, valid UK manual driving licence with no more than six points.
• Minimum age 18 years old.
• Successful completion of a licence and security check.

• Previous driving role experience.
• Knowledge of chilled vehicle handling.

• Pay: £14.31 per hour (night premium £3.75 per hour for 22:00‑06:00).
• Contract Type: Temporary.
• Hours of Work: 22.5 hours per week across seven days, including early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends (06:00‑14:00 and 14:00‑22:00).
