This is a full-time hybrid Advertising Sales Executive role with one day per week (Wednesday) spent in the office in Cromhall, South Gloucestershire.
The Advertising Sales Executive will prospect and build relationships with new and existing advertisers, focusing on generating revenue across print, digital, and event platforms.
Daily responsibilities include identifying target clients, preparing and delivering tailored sales presentations, managing the full sales cycle from initial contact to closing, and maintaining a strong pipeline through consistent outreach and follow-up. The role will also involve collaborating with marketing, editorial, and events teams to develop integrated advertising solutions that align with client objectives and theHRDIRECTOR’s brand values. The Advertising Sales Executive will monitor market trends, gather feedback from advertisers, and produce regular reports on performance, forecasts, and opportunities for growth.
Qualifications- Proven experience in Sales and Business Development, ideally within media, publishing, or B2B environments, with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Strong skills in Sales Presentations, including the ability to prepare persuasive proposals, pitch solutions, and confidently present to senior decision makers.
- Understanding of Marketing principles and how they relate to advertising solutions, with exposure to campaigns across both print and digital channels.
- Experience working with Magazines or similar media products, including familiarity with advertising formats, readership profiles, and audience engagement metrics.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with a customer-focused and consultative approach.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities, capable of managing multiple accounts and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort using CRM systems and standard office software to manage pipelines, maintain records, and report on sales activity.
- Desirable:
Knowledge of the HR or people management sector, and experience selling integrated advertising packages (print, digital, and events).
