Sales Manager Opportunity - Langley Park
Our client is a successful and growing independent used car retailer based in Langley Park, Durham (DH7). Due to continued expansion, they are looking to recruit an experienced and hands‑on Sales Manager to oversee their sales operation and support the day‑to‑day running of the dealership.
This is an excellent opportunity for an automotive professional who enjoys being involved in all aspects of the business, from managing a small sales team and purchasing stock to ensuring vehicles are prepared and ready for sale.
The RoleAs Sales Manager, you will take responsibility for the dealership's sales performance while playing a key role in the overall operation of the business. This is a hands‑on management position suited to someone who can lead from the front and drive both sales and profitability.
Key Responsibilities- Manage, motivate, and support a small sales team.
- Buy and source quality used vehicles to maintain stock levels.
- Maximise vehicle sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee vehicle pricing and stock management.
- Manage all vehicle invoicing and sales administration.
- Coordinate and organise vehicle preparation, ensuring stock is retail-ready.
- Liaise with workshop and valeting teams to ensure preparation deadlines are met.
- Manage finance and part-exchange transactions.
- Ensure vehicles are advertised accurately across online platforms.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and support throughout the sales process.
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to achieve targets.
- Previous experience as a Sales Manager, Business Manager, Transaction Manager, or Senior Automotive Sales Executive.
- Experience buying and appraising used vehicles.
- Strong understanding of vehicle preparation and stock management.
- Experience managing a sales team.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience with in an independent used car dealership.
- Knowledge of FCA regulations and automotive finance products.
- Experience using dealer management and vehicle advertising systems.
