Our client, a well-established and growing ecological consultancy based in Swindon, is seeking an enthusiastic Ecologist to join their friendly and professional team. You will be involved in a wide range of ecological projects across the UK, supporting clients through all stages of the planning and development process. The role offers a balance of fieldwork, reporting, and client liaison.
Key responsibilities include- Undertaking habitat and protected species surveys (including Phase 1 and UKHab)
- Assisting with and producing ecological reports (PEAs, PRAs, EcIAs)
- Supporting mitigation design and implementation
- Liaising with clients, planners, and project teams
- Contributing to high‑quality, practical ecological solutions
- Degree (or equivalent) in Ecology or a related discipline
- Experience in ecological field surveys and report writing
- Good knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Membership (or working towards membership) of CIEEM is desirable, as are protected species survey licences, but training and support will be provided.
