Working pattern: Approx. 60% site-based / 40% travel

Are you a Fire Safety professional looking for something more varied than an office-based role?

This is an opportunity to join an established specialist fire safety team and take ownership of fire safety across alarge, complex and highly varied estate.

With around 1,500 buildings across 40+ sites, you won't be dealing with the same building or the same problem every day. From older buildings through to major new developments and complex engineering environments, there is plenty to get your teeth into.

You’ll take responsibility for an allocated portfolio of sites, working closely with people on the ground as well as senior leadership.

Your focus will be heavily around fire risk assessment, fire safety management and improving standards across the estate.

• Leading fire safety across your allocated sites.
• Completing and reviewing Fire Risk Assessments.
• Identifying fire safety risks and making sure actions are followed through.
• Advising operational teams and senior stakeholders.
• Challenging the business where additional controls or investment are needed.
• Supporting new building and development projects.
• Advising on Building Regulations, Building Control and fire safety requirements.
• Working with site teams to understand the practical challenges they face
• Buildingstrongrelationshipswhileconfidentlyprovidingchallengewhenneeded.
• TravellingacrosstheUKtosupportdifferentsites.

We'relookingforsomeonewhoknowstheirfiresafetyinsideout,butwhoalsoknowshowtoworkwithpeople.

Ideally,you'llhave:

• Level4
  
  Fire Risk Assessmentqualificationasaminimum .
• Strongprofessionalfiresafetyexperience.
• Extensiveexperiencewith Fire Risk Assessments .
• Experienceworkingwithcomplexbuildings.
• Knowledge of Building Regulationsandfiresafetylegislation .
• Experiencewithindefence,aviation,local authority,buildingcontrolorthefireservicewouldbehighlyrelevant.
• Firesafetyinstructorexperiencewouldbeabonus.
• Experiencedealingwithseniorstakeholdersandleadershipteams.
• Theconfidencetochallengethebusinesswhensomethingisn'tright.
• Adiplomatic,practicalandcustomer-focused approach.
• Theabilitytoexplaintechnicalfiresafetyrequirementsinaclearandstraightforwardway.
• FlexibilitytotravelacrosstheUK.

You’ll need to be someone who can walk into a room challenge and ask questions in the right way.

Someofthebuildingsyou’llbedealingwithareolderandpresentgenuinelydifficultfiresafetychallenges.

Sometimestheright solutionwillrequiresignificantinvestment,andyou’llneedtheconfidencetomakethatcasewhilemaintainingstrongrelationshipswiththeclientandwiderbusiness.

You’ll workcloselywiththepeopleactuallymanagingthesebuildings,sounderstandingthereal worldchallengesonthegroundisjustasimportantasyourtechnicalknowledge.

Thisisabusy,variedandgenuinelyinterestingfiresafetyrolewithexposuretocomplexbuildings,engineering,aviation,defence, securityandemergingtechnologies.

You’llbepartofanestablishedspecialistteam,haveplentyofautonomyacrossyourownportfolioandworkalongsideexperiencedfiresafetyprofessionals.

Thereisalsoastrongfocusoncareerdevelopmentandprogression,withopportunitiestogrowwithinthewider

Safety function.

You’llhaveaflexibleworkingarrangement,with approximately
60% site basedworkand
40% travel.

Travelexpensesare recovered,includingahirevehicleandfuel,withafoodallowancewhentravelling.
