Junior Fire and security Service Engineer

I am representing an excellent opportunity on behalf of my client, who is looking to bring an enthusiastic Junior Service Engineer into the Fire & Security industry. This role is ideal for someone who is new to fire & security but has a practical background and wants strong training, development, and a long-term career path.

You will support experienced engineers with servicing and maintaining fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control systems. This is a hands-on position designed to give you the grounding to become a fully qualified Service Engineer.

My client offers a structured training pathway, including:

• Full in-house training with senior engineers

• Manufacturer training on leading fire & security systems

• FIA fire alarm training modules

• IP CCTV, networking and access control courses

• Ongoing mentoring, toolbox talks, and skill development

• Clear progression into a fully qualified engineer position

This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to properly break into the industry.

My client is very open to people entering the industry, but the following backgrounds or skills would be highly desirable:

• Electrical Improver / Electrician experience

• 1st fix or 2nd fix experience

• Pulling cables / cable routing

• Cable terminations

• PATCH PANEL / patching experience

• Knowledge of CAT5 / CAT6 and basic network infrastructure

• General data cabling experience

• Able to use hand tools and power tools confidently

• Experience with trunking, tray, conduit, and basket installations

• ECS/CSCS card

• IPAF / PASMA certifications

These backgrounds transfer extremely well into fire & security.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Support senior engineers with servicing and maintenance

• Assist with system testing, inspections, and compliance checks

• Help with basic fault-finding

• Carry out cabling and installation prep as required

• Complete simple service reports

• Travel across London & surrounding areas (vehicle provided after training)

• 24,000- 30,000 starting salary
