A leading specialist in the design, installation, and maintenance of fuel storage and dispensing systems. We provide full-service maintenance for tanks, pumps, gauges, and fuel management systems, including fuel testing, cleaning, and decommissioning. As an RDCO-registered operator, we have the capability to uplift fuel for resale or disposal.
Position OverviewWe need a highly skilled ATEX Certified Electrician to support our fuel systems operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and testing of electrical systems in potentially explosive atmospheres, ensuring compliance with all applicable ATEX directives and UK safety regulations. This is a field-based role covering sites across the UK.
Key Responsibilities- Install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems in ATEX-designated hazardous areas.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with DSEAR and UK safety standards.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults in complex systems and installations.
- Produce and maintain accurate documentation, including inspection reports, risk assessments, and compliance records.
- Offer technical support and guidance to colleagues and clients on ATEX-related issues.
- Assist with project planning and collaborate with engineering and safety teams to ensure safe and compliant project delivery.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, safety practices, and emerging technologies.
- Valid ATEX Certification – such as Comp Ex Ex07 / 08 (or equivalent).
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Experience working with electrical systems in hazardous (explosive) areas – preferably in fuel, oil & gas, or chemical industries.
- Deep understanding of ATEX directives and DSEAR regulations.
- Proficient in interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.
Contracted hours: 08:30 – 17:00, Monday to Friday.
Overtime available on Saturdays as workloads allow (optional).
Pay and OvertimeBasic Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum
On-Target Earnings : £60,000 – £70,000+ with overtime
Overtime rates: x1.5 (Mon–Sat) Available, Overtime rates x2 (Sundays & Bank Holidays – Rarely worked)
Some engineers work 50–60 hours / week when required
Travel & ExpensesPaid door-to-door for all travel to customer sites
