We need an 18th Edition Qualified Electrician.
Location:
Home-based, visiting client sites. The company is located in Springhill, Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire. This is a field service position that requires travelling to client sites.
Salary: £37,500 - £45,000 (£50,000 to £60,000 on target earnings). Overtime rates: x1.5 (Mon–Sat) available work, x2 (Sundays & Bank Holidays – rarely worked). Some engineers work 50–60 hours / week when required.
Position OverviewWe need a qualified and experienced 18th Edition Electrician to join our team. The role involves electrical installations, testing, and maintenance in line with IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) across commercial and industrial projects. You will work on reactive maintenance, planned preventative work, and new installations for a diverse client base.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work to 18th Edition standards
- Inspect, test, and certify electrical installations using appropriate tools and equipment
- Diagnose electrical faults and perform corrective action efficiently
- Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and company procedures
- Complete and maintain accurate job records, test certificates, and other documentation
- Liaise with site managers, project teams, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
- Travel to various client sites as required
Contracted hours: 08:30 – 17:00, Monday to Friday. Optional overtime on Saturdays (as workloads allow).
Travel & Expenses- Paid door-to-door travel to customer sites
- Company van provided
- City & Guilds 2382-18 (18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations)
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
- City & Guilds 2391 or 2394 / 2395 Inspection & Testing (preferred but not essential)
- ECS / JIB Gold Card (or working towards it)
- Proven experience in commercial or industrial electrical environments
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documents
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and quality standards
- Strong communication skills; able to work independently or in a team
- Flexible and proactive approach to work
- Willingness to undertake additional training (e.g., EV chargers, ATEX, Comp Ex)
