Support Worker, Youth Support Worker

Support Worker - Supported Living (16-18) | Bournemouth | Temp to Perm

We are currently recruiting for Support Workers to join a welcoming supported living setting in Bournemouth. This is a full‑time, temp‑to‑perm opportunity, ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people as they develop independence and life skills.

• Supported living provision for young people aged 16-18
• All residents are relatively independent - no personal care required
• Supporting young people with additional needs, including Autism and ADHD
• A positive and encouraging environment focused on preparing young people for adult life

As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in helping young people build confidence and independence. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include:

• Supporting with daily living skills such as cooking, shopping, and maintaining a home
• Encouraging independence and decision‑making
• Accompanying young people to activities and appointments
• Supporting with job applications, CV writing, and preparing for employment
• Adapting your support depending on individual needs - some young people require minimal input, while others need more consistent guidance

Start date:

ASAP

• Shifts run from 9:00am - 9:00am
• Working hours:
  
  9:00am - 11:00pm
• Sleep‑in: 11:00pm - 7:00am (may be interrupted if support is needed - paid accordingly)
• Morning shift: 7:00am - 9:30am

They have a 3 week rolling rota, an example of this is below:

• Week 1 – Wednesday Saturday
• Week 2 – Monday, Friday, Sunday
• Week 3 – Tuesday Thursday

• Minimum 6 months’ experience working with children or young people (any setting)
• No prior SEN experience required
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with young people
• Reliable, committed, and able to work the shift pattern outlined

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
