The Role

Asa Rough Sleepers Support Worker ,youwill:

  • Providepracticalandemotionalsupporttoindividualsexperiencingroughsleepingandhomelessness.
  • Buildtrusting,professionalrelationshipswithserviceusersandworkinastrengths-based,person-centredway.
  • Carryoutassessmentsanddevelopindividualsupportplanswithserviceusers.
  • Supportindividualstoaccessandsustainsuitableaccommodation.
  • Workwithexternalagenciesandpartnerorganisationstoaccessservicesincludinghealth,benefits,substancemisuseandmentalhealthsupport.
  • Advocateonbehalfofserviceusersandhelpremovebarrierstoaccessingsupport.
  • Maintainaccuratecaserecordsandensureallrelevantinformationisrecordedappropriately.
  • Managesafeguardingconcernsandrespondappropriatelytorisksandincidents.
  • Encourageserviceuserstodevelopindependentlivingskillsandworktowardslonger-termstability.
  • Workcollaborativelywithcolleaguesandpartneragenciestoachievepositiveoutcomes.
About You

Wearelookingforsomeonewhoiscompassionate,resilientandabletoengageeffectivelywithpeoplewhomayhavecomplexneeds.

Youwillideallyhave:

  • Experienceworkingwithpeopleexperiencinghomelessness,roughsleepingorothercomplexsupportneeds.
  • Anunderstandingofthechallengesfacedbypeopleexperiencinghomelessness.
  • Experienceprovidingsupportinahousing,care,outreachorcommunitysetting.
  • Strong communication,interpersonalandrelationship-building skills.
  • Theabilitytomanagechallengingsituationscalmlyandprofessionally.
  • Goodunderstandingofsafeguarding,confidentialityandprofessionalboundaries.
  • Strongrecord-keepingandorganisationalskills.
  • Aflexibleandproactiveapproachtosupportingserviceusers.
