Homeless Assessment and Advice Officer

Location: Inverclyde
Contract: Temporary

Reed are recruiting on behalf of our client for an Assessment and Advice Officer to join their Housing Options and Homelessness service. This is an opportunity to support individuals and families experiencing housing difficulties, helping to prevent homelessness and secure sustainable housing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct homelessness and housing options assessments.
• Provide advice and support to prevent homelessness.
• Manage a caseload of homelessness and housing applications.
• Complete support needs and financial assessments, making referrals where appropriate.
• Liaise with housing providers and partner agencies to secure suitable accommodation and support.
• Contribute to homelessness prevention initiatives and multi-agency working.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Experience working with vulnerable individuals and diverse client groups.
• Knowledge of homelessness legislation and housing services.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working effectively with partner organisations and stakeholders.
• Good IT skills and the ability to manage case records accurately.

A driving licence and access to a vehicle during working hours are required
