37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. You will also be required to work one Saturday morning, 9am–12pm, within each 3-month period. Contract Type:
Fixed Term – 10 months Salary: £25,877.80 - £34,240.03

About the RoleWe’re excited to offer a 10-month fixed‑term opportunity for a Recovery Coordinator to join our East Durham team. This is a dynamic and rewarding role where you’ll support adults affected by drug and alcohol use throughout their treatment and recovery journey. You’ll manage your own caseload, creating, implementing and reviewing personalised recovery and treatment plans, while building meaningful and trusting relationships with the people we support.
You’ll work with individuals at different stages of their recovery journey – from initial engagement and assessment, through structured treatment, to exiting treatment and accessing sustained recovery and aftercare. You’ll play an important role in helping people reduce substance‑related harm and make positive, sustainable changes in their lives, while also contributing to safer and healthier communities. Working as part of our East Durham team, you’ll collaborate with colleagues and partner agencies to provide person‑centred, coordinated support that reflects the individual needs and goals of each person.

- Manage a caseload, creating, implementing and reviewing ongoing recovery and treatment plans.
- Support individuals to progress from initial engagement into structured treatment.
- Complete assessments and identify individual needs, strengths, goals and areas of risk.
- Support people throughout their treatment journey, from initial assessment through to exiting treatment, sustained recovery and aftercare.
- Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage engagement and promote lasting recovery.
- Provide person‑centred support and interventions based on individual needs and recovery goals.
- Contribute to reducing substance‑related harm to individuals and the wider community.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, partner agencies and other professionals to ensure people receive coordinated and appropriate support.
- Help individuals access appropriate health, wellbeing, housing, employment, family and community resources.
- Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, risk and changes in presentation, escalating where required.
- Maintain accurate and timely records in line with service and organisational requirements.
- Support individuals to develop practical strategies that promote independence, wellbeing and sustained recovery.
- Encourage individuals to recognise their strengths, build resilience and work towards their own recovery goals.
