Senior Social Worker

The Stroud Locality Team at Gloucestershire County Council is recruiting a permanent part-time Senior Social Worker, 29.6 hours a week. The core of the job is practising at a higher level in complicated cases, assessing and managing greater risk and giving evidence-based opinion alongside a range of professionals and senior managers. It steps up the challenge and complexity of social work without management responsibility.

Applicants need SWE registration and to have finished ASYE with at least two years' service since.

• Provide high-level social work practice in complex situations
• Assess and manage higher levels of risk
• Work closely with a range of professionals and senior managers
• Balance support and independence for people through evidence-based professional opinion
• Promote people's independence and strengths
• Work in line with the Three Conversation approach, focused on people and their networks

• Social work qualification

• SWE registration

• Completed ASYE programme
• At least 2 years' post-completion service
• Demonstrable experience of credible approaches to practice

• Up to date knowledge of legislation
• Ability to prioritise using a risk-based approach
• Fluent spoken English

• Enhanced Adults DBS with barred list check
